I had the privilege to participate with other leaders drawn from across all African religions in the Mini Annual Meeting of the Africa Just Transition Network (AJTN) held in Nairobi Kenya in August, 2026.
We all agreed that Africa must not only be present at the negotiating table when it comes to issues of Vlimate Change, finance and Energy Transition but must contribute to defining priorities, solutions, and conditions for a just transition.
We had time to strategies as leaders of African working groups and representatives of Country Chapters from different regions of Africa to brainstorm on ways to profer solutions and amplify the voices of vulnerable groups in the Global South.
We reviewed our progress, shared our experiences, and especially reflected on the next steps to strengthen our advocacy for a just, inclusive, and equitable energy transition in Africa.
We’re looking forward to what COP31 will bring for the people, our advocacy must be at the heart of the agenda
