On the 22nd December, 2018, Society for Women and Youths Affairs (SWAYA) organized a graduation ceremony for pioneer graduate of SWAYA SKILLS’ HUB. The occasion was also used to present them with their certificate of participation which was witnessed by graduates family and friends, representatives of the Civil Society Organizations and Faith based organizations respectively.
Speaking on behalf of the Civil society organization, Comr. Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface commended SWAYA for her contributions to the socio-economic development of women and youths in the Niger Delta and urged them to keep it up to ensuring that the economic rights of women and youths in Nigeria especially the Niger Delta are promoted and protected. He further stated that the free skills acquisition programme provided at SWAYA Skills’ Hub will to a large extent address livelihood issues caused by environmental pollution in the Niger Delta.
Also speaking at the event, Pastor Jonathan Paul commended SWAYA for her strong commitment demonstrated over the years to better the Society and charged graduants to ensure that the skills acquired are put into practice and that ideas and knowledge cannot produce any positive results until something is done practically.
Snacks exhibition by Trainees
The Board of trustee chairman, Mr. Lebari Amanie commended graduants for their perseverance throughout the program and promised them that SWAYA will render any needed mentorship assistance to them when the need arises.
Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Miss Nuella Richard who spoke on behalf of the graduands expressed her sincere gratitude to SWAYA and all those who in one way or the other contributed immensely to their success up to the completion of the training and promised to ensure that skills acquired will be put into use to make positive impact
in the society
SWAYA also formally commissioned her Transport Scheme starting with 2 mini buses for two beneficiaries where Mr. Sixtus Baniviga TorBari spoke with so much excitement for the laudable gesture from SWAYA and her funders and prayed that SWAYA gets more funds to reach out to other less privileged in the Niger Delta.
Awards were given to best performing trainees in punctuality, creativity, etc.
Conclusively, SWAYA thanked Weifang Leader Dredger for the funding support of the project implementation and promised to do her best to ensuring that the project is sustained.
